Finland beats Great Britain Lions 34:12 (7:0/20:6/0:7/6:0) in the bronze medal game at Malmö.

The morning at Malmö starts with rain. Just an hour before the kickoff the rain stops and weather was alright for a good Football game. Great Britain against Finland has a big tradition at the European Championchips. Both teams meets five times including two Championship Finals in late Eighties.

The Finish Team starts with a long drive. Quarterback P. Penkki who uses eight different receivers through the game, leads his offense down the field. A big help was Running Back T. Paukkula. He ended the drive with a 3 yard Touchdown run for the finish lead. Paukkula rushes for 136 yards and another Touchdown in the 3rd Quarter, earning the MVP honour for his team. In the second Quarter P. Penkki finds his Wide Receiver J. Satola open for an 8 yard Touchdown pass. But the British answer takes not a long time. Just with the first play of the next drive Quarterback David Drane was scrambling and connected his pass to C. Palumbo, who was unstoppable for the next 67 yards. Palumbo scored the first Touchdown for the British Lions. But till halftime Finland decides the game by throwing two more touchdown passes, one of it was a 48 yarder from P. Penkki to V. Palikainen.
After Halftime Great Britain did not give up. They fight the hole game to come back. Not able to run constantly all the time, the British offense was build on the arm of Quarterback David Drane. Especially C. Palumbo was his favourite target. They connected 8 passes for 141 yards bringing the MVP title for the British receiver. But three interceptions have been too much for the Great Britain Lions. Running Back K. Campell put the last points on the scoreboard with a powerful 13 yard run overrunning every defender in his way.
