Cheerleading World Championships: Japan most successful nation on the first day

Japan leads the medal table as expected after the first day of the Cheerleading World Championships in their own country. The hosts won a total of 10 medals in the 13 decisions in Cheer Dance and Cheerleading in Takasaki on Saturday. The Japanese were on the top podium five times. They won also five silver medals.

Especially the teams from Asia showed excellent performances close to their homeland and were decorated with a total of 27 of the 39 precious metals to be awarded.

The strongest nation outside of Asia is the Russian Federation with two gold, two silver and one bronze medal.
